When it rains it pours

It seems that way lately. Between the civil skirmishes in Egypt and Libya, the natural and man-made disasters in Japan, and some personal bad news to boot, it’s been a really bad couple of months. So I’m thinking everyone needs a hug and a smile.

Here's the hug...

And Here's the smile...

So how do you pull yourselves out of a bluesy funk?

I loved the free hugs video! I'm one of those people who waves and smiles to everyone I see working or walking down the street. I can't help it. I love friendly people, and I wish there were more of them.

I get out of a bluesy funk by hugging my daughter. She can make everything seem right again with one hug.

Why does that not surprise me, Kelly? Hahaha. You totally seem like the super smilie type person to me.:D

Yup, I do the munchkin snuggle too! I get my son and daughter and snuggle down on the couch while they watch tv and sneak in a few hugs and kisses here and there. (Its the only way to do it without them going "ew gross Mom.") There's nothing better.

HOW POWERFUL!!! It actually made me cry (in a good way).

I didn't even realized I need that hug so badly!

Thank you, I send a hug and smile right back at you!

All the best,
Meryl

Aw...thanks Meryl!
It’s just been all about the bad news lately and I felt myself getting more and more melancholy. I figured if I could use a hug maybe everyone else could too.
Well I’m glad it did some good!

Just what I needed today...a hug and a dose of Jason Mraz! Thanks!!! :D (A hug FROM Jason Mraz wouldn't be bad either...)

I love Jason Mraz!! I was going to post up "Geek in the Pink" because it always makes me laugh when I listen to it but I wasn't sure if someone way going to get offended. Great song though.
(And completely agree - I wouldn't mind a hug from JM. it would totally make my day! :D )

It always bring a smile to my face when I see it, Elizabeth. SO I break it out every now and then when I need a smile. :)

Whenever I'm bluesy, I go play in the backyard with my dogs--even if it's freezing. My dogs are incredibly "high on life," and it's contagious. You can't be sad with two big dumb dogs slobbering in your face.
