This is the cover I made to go with my finished YA Paranormal Romance manuscript, The Plains of Purgatory.
It is a story about a girl named, Alexandra, a quiet, average teen who never quite feels normal. One night, Alexandra is driving down a dark road on the way to a party when her car is attacked by a monstrous animal. As she tries escape, she loses control of her car and smashes into a grove of trees, dying in the impact.
When she awakens, she finds herself in Purgatory, the last battlefield of the Apocalypse. The Army of the Damned and the Guardians of Mankind have waged war there since the beginning of time, and now for some unknown reason Alexandra finds herself right in the middle of it.
Dante, the sadistic leader of the Damned, will stop at nothing to take her for his own, including sending out legions of his troops to massacre anyone who stands in their way, namely Aidan, the captain of the Guardians' forces.
He's vowed to keep Alexandra safe, but there is more out to get her than just the Damned. The politics of their society pose more of an immediate threat to her than Dante. And there is only so much Aidan and Alexandra can do to ward them off.
This story takes the legends of the afterlife and totally turns them on their ear. Angels, Lucifer and his fallen, and even Purgatory itself are re-imagined. This is the first in a series.
