Hi SheWrites!

Welcome SheWrites Blog Hoppers!

C.M. Villani: Inside the Heart of a Storyteller

My blog chronicles the misadventures of the wild, high-living, munchkin wrangling, hubby pleasing, butt kicker that is me - CMV. :) Just kidding (well sort of). Honestly, I started this blog at the beginning of last year to post about the highs and lows that come with the desire to become a published author. And boy are there many.

On occastion, I'm also known to post up some snippets of advice, total all out rants, and a good song here and there. Hope you guys poke around a little bit to check out what I'm all about.

* * *

~Something Old~

For my blogging advice, I wanted to repost the links I put up at the beginning of the week to the how-to tutorials for creating Blog Badges/Buttons and the scroll box for the embed codes below it. It really isn't all that hard and it makes a great way to promote your blog!

~Something New~

For those of you who have been here for a while, you'll know that I recently came to the decision that I needed to rewrite the first few chapters of my current work in progress

So as something big for the SheWrites blog hop I wanted to share my recently finished first chapter. Enjoy!

~Something Borrowed~

As I said above I - on occasion (okay three times last week but who's counting) - post up great new songs that I find.

Here is a great new one

~Something Blue~

Well besides the majority of my blog... :)

I created a series of Blog Badges/Buttons for Snag My Badge!
If you want to/like to, you can grab one to post up on your site!
Check them out on the right hand side of the page.
Thanks in advance.

Fi - Hey! thanks for coming over to visit. I'm glad I could help. Truth be told I didn't know how to do it myself until I read the tutorials but now I'm psyched. I love learning new techie stuff.

Helen - I've seen you around at SW. Thanks for coming. Glad I could help!

Nicole - :D Thanks. I'm glad you liked my chapter. I always get nervous posting my work up for the public to read. Its nice to know you enjoyed it.

Meg - Anytime! :)

Brenda - Thanks! It makes me kind of gitty to hear you say that. I'll probably post more snippets along the way. So keep an eye out!

Hi! It's waaaaay past my bedtime, but I just had to hop on over to your blog for the ball. I'll be turning into a pumpkin soon, but I wanted to tell you how glad I am that our paths crossed at SheWrites. Your blog posts never fail to brighten my day. Looking forward to sharing stories and inspiration with you! :)

Thanks for the advice on creating a badge! Have fun with the Blog Hop!!

Sandi Johnson said...

Of course, since your links helped me set up a badge on my blog...there's no way I could skip stopping by to say thanks!

With that said, I also have to tell you that it's all your fault I'm getting no work done this morning. I'm sitting here browsing through your blog when I SHOULD be working on assignments, setting up an interview for a feature article due in *gasp* less than 2 weeks, and otherwise keeping the lights on and children fed. (Who am I kidding...I have 2 teenage boys. There's no such thing as keeping them fed...more like just keep feeding them.)

But still...you are (albeit pleasantly) keeping me from work this morning with all this really cool content. You should feel guilty. Really. (Quit smiling! Guilty people don't smile!)

:D ;-)

On a serious note, thanks for the badge tutorials...and a waaay bigger music collection...and a very pleasant distraction from work this morning. Look forward to seeing you over at SheWrites!

You guys are absolutely amazing. Thank you for all of your comments!

Sam - Hahaha! It must be late for you since it was first thing in the morning here when you posted it up! I feel the same way about you. Its been really enjoyable reading all your updates and finding inspiration in your success. You rock girl!

Janel - It was my pleasure. Hope it helps!

Sandi - You totally cracked me up! Hahahaha. Yes I shall hang my head in shame for being such a major distraction in your day. I am forever sorry for being such a pain. :D

NOW GET TO WORK! Just kidding. Thanks for such a lovely compliment. Hope to see you far more often. :D

Amanda - Thank you so much! You have no idea how nice it is to hear such great compliments. You made my day. :)

llvinso - glad I could broaden your horrizons.

Julie - Thank you! It took a big leap of faith to put my chapter out there but I really wanted to share something special. I'm glad you enjoyed it.

Thanks again everyone!

Hi! It's me again. I didn't have time to read your chapter last night, so I simply had to swing by again this morning. I just read it and I am officially intrigued and drooling for more. Hurry up and finish it already! :) (Btw, I LOVE the title!)

Samantha Sotto-Yambao said...

Big OOPS. If you were wondering who Ode2eggs was - that was me. I forgot to sign out from another blog I posted from. Hehe. (The funny thing is, i don't even write Ode. I just went online and posted something for my friend. LOL)

Hi I am from She Writes. Loved you old and new (was wondering where the borrowed and blue went... just kidding I really loved it).

Hope you visit me. I will definitely come back. I love your writing style, the art, the messages. Good luck with the publishing!

All the best,
Meryl Jaffe

Cathy - thank you! You are welcome back here anytime. :)

Brenda - I don't think I'll be posting another whole chapter (you know how agents and publishers are) but I may post up tantalizing snippets every now and then. I look forward to seeing you around. :)

Sam - Hahahaha! I was wondering actually. I didn't know you were so into eggs. :) Oh by the way I have a new IFTD just for you. I thought it would go perfectly with the snippet of your novel that you posted the other day.

Anyway, Thanks for the coodoes on the chapter!
It always makes me gitty to hear people enjoy my work. And I'm working on it, I AM! I swear. I just recently threw a monkey wrench into the works while outlining and as a result I'm in the middle of restructuring the beginning. I swear nothing is ever easy!
(And thanks - i just changed the title to that. The other one I had never really sat well with me.)

Meryl - thanks for coming. I have been to your site and it is really great. very unique. I will make sure to keep an eye out for you here and over at SW!

Victoria - oh they're there they might not be tips but they're something fun to enjoy. Something borrowed ...I borrowed that video from youtube. And Something blue is the blue tone blog badge.

Tristi - Awww thanks! I'm glad you thinks so. I went through like 25 different blog layouts before I decided on this one. it is quite buuuutiful. :)

Anyway thanks everyone for making this weekend such a great blog hop! you guys are all very awesome and I hope you will stop by again soon for a visit!
